Social Security Disability

Under the federal Social Security disability act, “disability” means the “inability to engage in any substantial gainful activity by reason of any medically determinable physician or mental impairment which can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than 12 months or result in death.”

Our attorneys are experienced in all stages of a claim, including representation at administrative hearings and appeal to Federal Court. In preparation for an administrative hearing, our attorneys explain what issues are most important and prepare the client for questions the judge is likely to ask. On appeal in Federal Court, our attorneys submit written legal arguments and attend oral arguments if necessary.

Claims can be won on the basis of one impairment, either physical or psychological, or can be won on the basis of a combination of impairments. Our attorneys also assist with routine matters on a claim, such as filing appeals on time and assisting in the completion of standard Social Security questionnaires, obtaining doctors’ records and reports. Our firm has highly skilled staff dedicated to keeping your claim running smoothly and who are able to quickly and knowledgeably answer questions or find the answers.

No fee is collected if your social security disability claim is not won, and fees are only collected once you win. Statistically claimants that are represented by an attorney are much more likely to win their claim. Our experienced attorneys know what proof Social Security and the SSI Disability system requires and all aspects of your case including complicated paperwork will be handled professionally.
